Digboi is one of the important cities in the state of Assam. It is referred to as the ‘Oil City’ as the country’s first ever oil refinery was established here. Going by the history of the land, its existence dates back to 18th century, the period during which oil was first discovered here. In the year 1867, when the railway tracks were being laid here, oil traces were found and the rest is history.

Spread across an area of 13 hectares of land, Arboretum is a magnificent outcome of planned landscape. It is situated 8 km away from Diphu. The forest department in this area maintains this lush green paradise, which has a wide range of local vegetation. Arboretum is one of the most favored picnic spots in this land.
Taralangso Cultural Centre
Taralangso Cultural Centre was established to organize shows of various tribal dances. Karbi Cultural Society maintains the centre, which has an open auditorium and amphitheater. You could enjoy tribal dances of various tribal communities in the centre, which is located at a scenic landscape.
